Thought I'd post a follow up here... I can't seem to get it to work, either.

Shouldn't the "noindex" show up in the source code? I'm not even seeing it there.

Maybe I'm getting the page ID wrong? I get it from rolling over the post title in the admin page and looking in the bottom window of the browser. It's usually a 2 or 3 digit number, right?

Thanks for your help! All I want to do is noindex a page here or there, one at a time.

Hi, I love you plugin very much. Thanks for that.

I have a question on the no-follow option.
First, I tried to enter the page id but the page is still "follow".
Then I entered the slug, but it is still "follow".
Here is the code,

<meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow"/>

Could you advise the best practice to make it no-follow?

p.s. I ccould make it noindex so the page id should be correct.

Thanks.

This is to add a "noindex" meta tag to pages you don't want to show up in search engines, such as Google. You need to give Google time to drop the pages from its index. If you have anymore problems, let me know.

Hello,
I'm a bit new to WordPress, and think I may lack an understanding of how this is supposed to work. I deactivated all plugins except the Ultimate Noindex Nofollow Tool, enter the page id of a page I don't want the search to find, and it still pops up when a word in it is searched for. What am I missing? Thank you very much for any assistance,
TeAmigo

I was fooled by the same problem, at first, but then I reread your message and you said the links were not being nofollowed properly either. That was working for me also when I checked it.

No worries. Thanks for using it!

Jon,

Please ignore the whirring sound emanating from your computer. I must have been half asleep last night.

There is no conflict, and your plugin works just fine. The meta tag from your plugin was on the same line in the code as the sociable stuff. Therefore, it was off the screen and I merely missed it's presence. I was expecting that each plugin would apply the proper hard return in the code create separate lines of code.

Sorry to waste your time with this.

I have both plugins enabled and can't reproduce an error. I've looked at the code and can't find any conflicts. Can you enable both plugins, reproducing the error and provide me with a link? Thanks.

I can't really support other plugins but I will look into the conflict and see whether or not I can resolve it.

Noindex, follow in a robots meta tag tells the robot not to index the page but to still follow all the links it finds on the page.

First, let me say I love this plugin. Once I got it working, it did everything promised.

I had problems in the beginning though. I'm developing a new WP site which will be pages only, no regular blog posts. I will have several pages I don't want found by SE.

At first, the plugin did not work at all. I had neither the noindex meta tag in my header, or the rel=noindex in the correct links. So I disabled all my other plugins, then it was ok. Turned the other plugins back on one at a time.

I found that after I enabled the Sociable plugin, that the
<meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow"/>
no longer showed up in my headers. Seems it was pre-empted by sociable's call for it's CSS style sheet.

Also, I thought the meta tag was supposed to be
<meta name="robots" content="noindex, NOfollow"/>

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jim
